Canine Adoption and Rescue League in Ventura, CA. was founded in 1996, Their Mission Statement is: The Canine Adoption Rescue League mission is to help end the needless deaths of dogs and puppies in Ventura County by spaying or neutering all of the dogs in our program prior to adoption and to find good loving homes for the dogs and puppies in our Project Second Chance adoption program. This group does amazing work, and relies solely on donations for their facility.
Nancy Anderson, founder and CEO of The Brittany Foundation, started her journey in rescue in 1986, shortly after she arrived in California. She became keenly aware of inhumane atrocities that she couldn’t ignore: pit bull fighting and animal testing. She responded with action, rescuing her first pit bull, “Dog,” from a person facing incarceration. She soon added two more pit bulls, “Romeo” and “Claudio,” to her pack when she interrupted their transport to a fighting ring in Oxnard.
Our latest two rescues and they are amazing… both pups!!
